WILTON, Iowa -- Robert Henry Jipp, 70, Wilton, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.
Services are at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. The Rev. Wayne Fredericksen will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Linda Timmsen and vocalist Mike Tendall. Pallbearers are Myron White, Christopher Taylor, Nick Taylor, Mark Mitchell, Aaron Duffe, Josh White, Matthew Taylor and Bruce Jipp. Honorary pallbearers are Luke Jipp, Jacob Steinle, David Walker and David Steinle. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.
Visitations are at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Memorials may go to Zion Lutheran School.
Mr. Jipp was born on May 16, 1932, in Cedar County, the son of Edgar and Hazel Varney Jipp. He married Louise 'Lou' White on Feb. 2, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton.
He farmed in Cedar County, retiring in 1986. He later worked at Linwood Mining in Buffalo, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Iowa Guernsey Breeders Association and the Spotted Polland China Breeders Association. He raised Guernsey cattle and produced milk for Swiss Valley.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, designing buildings, home remodeling and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Deb Duffe and her husband, Ron, of Wilton, Donna White and her husband, Myron, of Maquoketa, Tina Tendall and her husband, Mike, of DeWitt, Robin Mitchell and her husband, Mark, of Muscatine, Roxanne Steinle and her husband, Dave, of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Renae Walker and her husband, Dave, of Vancouver, Wash.; two sons, Wesley Taylor and his wife, Julie, of Milan, Mo. and Rob Jipp and his wife, Annie, of Wilton; a brother, Mervin Jipp and his wife, Kay, of Wilton; 22 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
