Hi. I'm not sure if you've found the info you've been looking for yet, but my Aunt Joyce knows the history of our family name. Several years ago it was printed up in a family history hand book. I can check to see if the handbook is still around if you're interested. I do know that the name Jiggetts is French. (Jhi-'getts.) My brother will ONLY use the French pronunciation. There were some slave masters who, well, you know the story... Feel free to email me if you are interested. I've met many Jiggetts' over the years and one thing I've found to be true is that if it's spelled J-i-g-g-e-t-t-s, then we're related! There are some variations of the spelling, but I've only traced the ones with the same spelling to be related. I could be wrong though.

i have an old family tree (1985) from a family reunion we attended. it has most of the grandparents and great grandparents on it. if you'd like, i can fax you a copy. now, keep in mind that when i say old, i mean old. for example, it has my grandmother on it (candace thompson), but none of her children (my father, william jiggetts). so you'll have to do some searching to find out where you fit it. email me your fax and i'll send it over to you.
