Hi Chris,
I have some information about the Jezek family from Bohemia. My great-great-grand father was Jan Jezek, the brother of Peter and Dora Jezek. Their parents were Laurenz Jezek and Anna Nozar married in 1858. My brother is working on our family tree and we are trying to find some information about the part of the family who moved to Bessemer. Our family lost the contact probably in the 1950th. But we still have some old photos. I would be very happy if we can change some details about the Jezek family. If you are interested please write to: monika@saem.cz

Hi. I started this thread a ways back. I found a Tim Kozisek and talked to him probably 10 years ago but never followed up. If you don't mind I'll send you an email. The other guy you are talking to on this is my cousin.

Thank you. I don't have anything on the family only Dora Yezek. I think I read somewherer her mother was Anna Peterka. Any help you give me would help. Dora was born 8 Aug 1866. She married Josef Kozisek.
She died 4 March 1955 in Pine City

I have a good chunk of detail on decendents of Peter Jezek. What are you looking for?

Dora's and Peter's parents were Lawrence Jezek (Jazek?) and Annie Nozure. I also have a Mary Jezek listed as a sister of Dora and Peter who married a Joe Krofta.

Elton John Jezek is the brother of Ernest John Jezek and they are the sons of John Jezek and Rosie Sladovnik. Ignac and Anna are John Jezek's parents. Ernest John Jezek and Wanda Janette Metheny had adopted two boys, their names are Jon Paul Jezek and Joel Mark Jezek. I was married to Joel Mark Jezek and we had four children..Jennifer, John, Jaime and Jordan Jezek.

The spelling was probably JEZKOVA before they immigrated. Attached is a pic of Anna Jezkova in the Jezek Cemetery near Caldwell, Burleson County, Texas.

Joseph J. JEZEK, 84, of Loveland died May 2, 2005, at Sierra Vista Health Care Center.
He was born May 16, 1920, in Geddes, S.D., to Joe and Lillian Jezek. The family moved to Hemingford, Neb., in 1922.
He was inducted into the army in September 1941 and made a 25,000-mile ground tour of the Pacific. He separated from service in October 1945.
He graduated from Denver University in 1948 and later obtained a real estate degree from Red Rocks Community College in 1975.
He married Mary O’Grady in December 1950 and had six children: sons John of Lakewood and James of Littleton; daughters Mary Murawski of Orlando, Fla., Margaret of Armenia, Patricia Kurdziel of North Kingstown, R.I., and Ann Whitaker of Littleton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
He spent several years as a scoutmaster for Troop 1 and received the St. George Award.
Mr. Jezek retired in 1976 from Sears, Roebuck and Co. after 30 years of service and moved to Loveland in 1979. He served on the Loveland zoning board for 21/2 years and the Planning Commission for 71/2 years. He also served on the County Board of Appeals for several years and was a SCORE counselor for 21 years.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland, 80538.

Hi Debby,

I don't think it's the same Joseph. However, my Joseph (Grandfather) was born 6 Apr 1880 in Czechoslovokia - city unknown; married Anna Beran (b-14 Aug 1892 in Bohemia-city unknown). Both died in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Nebraska. Joseph passed 23 Sep 1942 and Anna 7 Oct 1931.

My Father's cousin, Anna Berka, lives in Omaha and may have more information. I'll see if I can contact her and see what records, letters, etc., she may have. There's a large Jezek, Beran, Berka family contingent in the Omaha area.

Hi! I am looking for information on Cecelia Jezek Armbrust who was born in Czechoslavakia and died in Omaha in 1941. Her mom was Josephine Jezek and I know she was still alive in Bellevue in 1941. Cecelia had a few brothers and sisters according to her obituary: Anna Grimm, Mrs. Anton Franta (Josephine Jezek), brother Edward Jezek.

Looking for any information on the family of
Peter Jezek, born 1864 in the Prague, Bohemia.
He moved to Wisconsin, then upper Michigan, married
Katherine Filip, born 1871 same place, evidently.
Peter had a sister Dora, who I believe married into
the Kozisek family and settled in Minnesota. Katherine
Filip's parents names were Mike Filip and Dora Vachal.
Am especially looking for Peter's parents/siblings info,
and anything previous.

My greatgreatfather James Issac(sp) Jezek later changed his last name to Burks - don't know why - don't know where he was born - keep coming up with dead ends on him. He married Ann/Anna Elizabeth Wallace in Indiana - they had two sons James born 1875 and Jesse born 1885 in Indiana.

We believe he was originally from Germany or Prusia.

Have you found any other Jezek family members?
