My great grandfather's name was Joseph Jewkes. He died very young. I was told he died in his thirties of black lung form coal mining in the UK or in Pennsylvania. Joseph had 4 or 5 children. There was William, My grandfather Frederick William (born 1911- died 1994), Sam, and Mary. I think there was one more but it died soon after childbirth.

My Jewkes family settled in the Pennsylvania areas of Pitts, Scranton, Braddock, and/or Rankin. My grandfather moved later moved to New York and lived in the Bronx for many years.

Only now am I am starting to realize that there were many Joseph Jewkes'....... I only wonder if my great grandfather is the same Joseph you are talking about.!?!
