I am so excited to connect with you! I had located Patterson Jewell but I wasn't entirely sure if he was the same person as the son of James Beatty Jewell and Rachel Seaton Patterson. I am descended from his sister Susan Victoria Jewell who married Robert Gilmore Kirkpatrick. Here is the will of James Beatty Jewell:

I, James B. Jewell, of the County of Jefferson and State of Ky....
.....I direct and appoint my executor to hire out my negroes and rent out my plantation and apply the money arising therefrom to the payment of my debts except so much as may be necessary for the clothing and tuition of my children....
.... an whereas my oldest daughter, Ruth Doriette Jewell, will be with my sister Malinda Jewell, and my second daughter, Susan Victoria Jewell, will live with my sister Susan Spurr, and my son, Kinchelow S.P. Jewell, will live with my brother, David Jewell, I direct my said executor to pay over to my said sisters and bother as much money as will be sufficient to pay for the clothing and tuition of the child they have with them each year.... dated 23 Dec 1844

Death date between 23 Dec 1844 to 6 Jan 1845 Family bible has date as Dec 27 184- but it is crossed out and replaced with Jan 3rd, 184- Last digit is missing on page.

As it turned out by 1850 Ruth Doriette Jewell is in the household of her mother's brother Seaton Patterson, Susan Victoria is in the house of her father's brother Lewis Jewell and Kincheloe may be the Patterson Jewell in David Jewell's house.
