MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Heinz Reinhardt Jeschke, 88, of Muscatine died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at his home.
Services are at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Edith Little will officiate. Organist will be Shirley Dunn. Pallbearers are Scott Ingstad, Dr. Robert Wies, David Palmer, Marlyn 'Bud' White, David Akers, and William Potter. Honorary pallbearers are Kermit Cook, William Moore, Dean Harvey, John Powell, and Sam Nelson. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Unity Hospice.
Mr. Jeschke was born Sept. 22, 1912, in Vesper, Kan., the son of Rev. Karl M. and Elinor Fisher Jeschke. He married Alta L. Potter Sept. 24, 1936, in Muscatine.
He was raised a member of the Evangelical Reformed Church, in Muscatine, where his father was the minister.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
He served on the Tax Assessment Board of Review. He was a self-employed carpentry contractor in the Muscatine most of his life.
He was very dedicated to his family. He was an avid outdoorsmen loving to fish and work in his garden.
Survivors include his wife, Alta 'Toots'; many nieces and nephews; great- and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
