MUSCATINE, Iowa - William E. Jensen, 85, of Davenport, formerly of Muscatine, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport.

Services will be at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Marvin Ehnen of the Davenport Good Samaritan Center will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Bob Erps, Delbert Grosvenor, Darold Busch, Gerald 'Grover' Stevens, Billy D. Kirkwood, Jim Buckley, Tim Timm and James Bivens.

Mr. Jensen was born Feb. 7, 1915, in Douglas, Wyo.

He married Jeanette Batchelor in 1939, after a divorce, he married Eunice Fowler in 1960.

He served in the military during World War II as an infantry sergeant in Europe. He received two purple hearts, a gold star, and a good conduct medal.

He was a self-employed carpenter for most of his working years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include Jeanette Stroughmatt of Muscatine and Eunice Weaver of Davenport; a son, Bill Jensen Jr. of Milan; three daughters, Connie Marlette and her husband, Merle, of Minnesota, Sharon Cousins of Muscatine and Denise Stenger her husband, Mick of Stockton; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a very special friend Danielle Mallette.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Jensen and a great-granddaughter.
