TIPTON, Iowa -- Herbert Harold Jennings, 88, of Tipton, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a lingering illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. The Rev. Donita Moeller will officiate. Burial will be at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery in Tipton.

Mr. Jennings was born Dec. 8, 1912, in Cedar County, the son of Arthur and Bertha Dotson Jennings. He married Ruth Wagaman March 19, 1938, in Tipton.

He was a farmer in Cedar County until his retirement. He graduated Tipton High School and Tipton Junior College. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Tipton.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jennings of Tipton; five daughters, Mary Lindemann and her husband, Bob, of Iowa City, Ann Rebal and her husband, Lenny, of Iowa City, Sharon Pease and her husband, John, of Cedar Rapids, Linda Jennings of Cedar Rapids, and Donna Terfler and her husband, Joe, of Cedar Rapids; four sons, Wallace Jennings and his wife, Sandy, of Davenport, Robert Jennings and his wife, Pat, of Davenport, Dwight Jennings of Tipton, and Chuck Jennings of Tipton; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Phil Chicchelly of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Berta Jennings; two brothers, Mearl and Forrest Jennings; a daughter, Virginia Chicchelly; and a grandson, Travis Jennings.

Memorial services for 47 year old Sue Ellen Jennings of Iowa City, Iowa will be held on May 31, 2002 at 1:30 pm at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction, Iowa. A time of fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Church immediately following the memorial services. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial services.

Sue died May 11, 2002 at her residence in Iowa City. A memorial has been established at the funeral home for the United Presbyterian Church and the Mercy Hospital Mental Health Program. Private family committal will be in the Columbus City Cemetery
Sue Ellen Richards was born December 29, 1954 in Washington, Iowa .

Sue had worked at Oral B Laboratory for 27 years in Iowa City, Iowa. Sue loved flowers, loved to garden and loved animal especially cats.
Sue is survived by her two sisters, Cindy Morse and her husband Bob of Winfield, Iowa, and Kathy Masonholder and her husband Merle, of Fayette, Missouri. There are 5 nieces surviving, Heidi Masonholder, Fayette, Mo, Holly Masonholder, Shorewood, Wi, Amy Sears and her husband, Craig, Rochester, Mn, Lisa Kremer and her husband, Jared, Mt. Pleasant, Ia, and Jill Yoder and her husband Justin, Morning Sun, Iowa. Also surviving from previouse marriages are Mario Salazar, Iowa City and John Jennings, Lone Tree and a special friend Rick Jirsa, Iowa City and several cousins.

Sue was preceded in death by her grandparent, parents and her Aunt Kate Hughes.
