The FIRST Noah Jenne is:
Noah Jenne, b,. 1750 VT, listed in Am. Gen. Biog. Index (AGBI) 90: 456 as abstracted from "State of VT: Rolls of the soldiers in the Rev. War, 1775-1783" by John E. Goodrich (Rutland VT, 1904), p. 277. (The AGBI is now a DB at Ancestry but I have a hard time calling it up.) The details of this man's service would be at the VT ROLLS p. 277; I do not have access to that here in CT. I can not say if his service is credited to Hartland VT. BUT that would appear to be the case. Patricia Law Hatcher's "Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots" (4 vols Dallas Tx 1987)is an extracted DB at Ancestry. It says that "Noah Jenne" is buried in "Hartland VT 16". The 16 presumably refers to the the Jenneville Cemetery mentioned in "Hartland VT in the Am Rev" book available through HeritageQuest.

The SECOND Noah Jenne is:
buried in the "West Genoa Cemetery, Genao, Cayuuga Co. NY 69", again according to Hatcher's "Abtract of Graves" book. THIS is the Noah Jenne credited with Rev War service by the DAR, specificallymfor the March 1780 militia service detailed in "Hartland in the Rev War" per above.

Now, a male born in 1766 per several Jenne family accounts would NOT be allowed on a militia expedition in 1780. At 14 years old, he would be 2 years below the legal age limit for military service throughout the NE colonies. They wouldn't have taken him, even as a fifer or drummer. A Noah b. in 1750 would be an appropriate age of 30 as a private in that company.

So, it appears that the various accounts that credit Noah J., b. 1766 to Samuel may be wrong. And the DAR descent/credit is also likely wrong.

So, to which branch of the Jenne family did the 1750 Noah belong to? Did he leave any descendants?

Can someone post here or send me the Jenne Book pages on Noah and his putative father Samuel? Does the book list another Noah?
