LUCY L. GIBSON, ILL SINCE JULY, DIES, AGE 70 YRS.
Mrs. Lucy L. Gibson, age 70 years, wife of Samuel G. Gibson, and a life-long resident of Noble County, died last night, 9 o'clock, at her home, 451 Garden Street. The immediate cause of her death was uremic poisoning and following a critical illness of five days. She was first taken seriously ill July 11, suffering a physical breakdown which impaired her eyesight to the extent of blindness. Since that time she had been bedfast the greater part of the time and her condition gradually grew worse.
Mrs. Gibson, whose maiden name was Lucy L. Jaquays, was born July 4, 1862, in Noble County, near Albion, the daughter of George W. and Phoebe Jaquays, and had always resided in Noble County. September 6, 1886, she was united in marriage with Samuel G. Gibson, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. Gibson first resided on a farm west of Kendallville and later moved to their home farm north of Kendallville where they resided 27 years, moving to their home on Garden Street in 1929. Mrs. Gibson was a highly respected woman and maintained many friends in the community.
Surviving besides the husband are two brothers and one sister, including Herbert and Walter Jaquays of near Albion, and Mrs. Van Melvin, residing south of Skinner Lake. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, 2 o'clock, from the Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. M. C. Wright officiating. Interment, Orange Cemetery, near Brimfield.
