Researching Jakes in Bedford Co. TN specifically James Jakes (1857-1922)who married Thelitha Ann "Annie" Frizzell. His parents were George Jakes and Catherine Morrow. I believe that George Jakes' parents were James Jakes and Nancy Harger who came to Bedford Co. TN from Franklin Co. VA. Would be interested in discussing this with any others researching in Bedford Co. TN or in Franklin Co VA

1. Ann Jakes born 1846 Married Joseph F. Gibson
2. Parthenia Jakes Born 1847 married Thomas McEwen
3. Bettie Jakes Born 1854
4. Jane Jakes Born 1855
5. James Jakes born 1857 married Thelitha Ann "Annie" Frizzell

I there was a good many Jakes in the Bedford Co. TN area during the 1800s.

Thanks for answering.The reason I was curious.My grandmother was Catherine[Katy[Jakes.I never knew her.My fathers name was Clifford George Burns.The way they used the same names in families,I thought there might be a connection.I don`t know where my grandmother was from.I`m guessing Tn.She died in 1905 or 1906 in Tn. Thanks

Don't know if this will help or not but I have attached the 1910 entry for John Burns family. This of course is after Katy's death but may give you a bit more insight to where she was from. It lists KY as the children's mothers place of birth. I will check thru more records and see if I can find anything.
