CANFIELD, OH - There will be a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at the Canfield United Methodist Church, celebrating the life of Kathryn J. Zuschlag Love, who died Saturday evening, Dec. 27, 2014.
Kathryn was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Eston and Alice King Jager, and was a lifelong area resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Kathryn graduated from East High School in 1945, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Youngstown State University in 1965, and her Master’s Degree from Westminster College in 1968.
Kathryn was a teacher for the Youngstown City School System and was the coordinator of the RIDE Program for the Youngstown Board of Education when she retired in 1988.
Her first husband, Paul Zuschlag, whom she married in September of 1947, died in October of 1978.
Her second husband, Ken Love, whom she married in 1987, died in 1999.
She leaves her son, Brad Zuschlag of Youngstown, OH; a daughter-in-law, Paula Zuschlag of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, William, Kevin and Lauren; and three great-grandchildren, Lili, Bella and Jackson. Kathryn also leaves her long-time companion, Keith Bingham.
Besides her parents and her husbands, Kathryn was preceded in death by a son, Randy Zuschlag; two brothers, Robert Jager and Johnny Jager; and a sister, Phyllis Kanto.
There will be no calling hours.
The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Youngstown State University scholarship fund.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield, Ohio Chapel.
