It is my understanding that the Jacots left France because of religious persecution, or something along that line, and settled in Switzerland. Some left Switzerland for America and some went to the Phillipines. Check out the Latter Day Saints website www.familysearch.org and you will find a lot of info there that will help you with your tree. I like your name. I am a Jacot by marriage and don't know of any Philipino Jacots. My husband's line came directly from Switzerland around 1790. Good luck to you.
