Yes, he does. His curiosity has him wondering who he knows in GMT.

Below is George's e-mail address. He would like to communicate directly, if you don't mind.

g.jacob@northnet.net

Thank you.

Teri
I'm doing some research for George Jacob, Andrew's great-grandson. He is searching for anyone that has information on the family upon their arrival. He was also told the story that Andrew and Mary came over on the same ship.

Would you consider sharing information with him?

Thank you.

Good morning Annie,
My name is Anne-Marie Flynn. In the lead up to ANZAC day, I have been researching about my great grandfather - James Michael Juleff. He fought in WW1 and was Captain in of the C Company, 36th Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force, Australian Horse. IN my research, I have discovered a letter from one Mrs Mary Jacob from "Fairview" Kootingal, NSW. The very sad letter was asking the army for Captain Juleff's home address so she could ask him about the death of her beloved son William George Jacob. I am wondering if this is a relative of yours? I found out that my great grandfather buried William Jacob on the battle field near La Potterie in France. It would be lovely to meet living relatives and show our respects. If you believe you are related, could you please email me at annivern@iinet.net.au or contact me on 0414 333 707. Many thanks Anne-Marie Flynn

Re Jacobs and Fishbournes, not only did Charlotte Jacob marry William Fishbourne, her brother David Baldwin Jacob married William's sister Sarah Elizabeth Fishbourne. In addition there must be s Baldwin connection somewhere, as William's father William married as his second wife Caroline Baldwin in about 1845!

Regards
Kaye Cole
(Researching Carlow Fishbournes)

Hi,
The above person was my 3x removed great grandmother, her parents were William and Catherine Jacob. The Menzies I think might have been her mother's surname. There is definitely a Scottish connection here with the name Menzies. Jane married a William Kettle (I haven't found the marriage yet though). Jane named one of her son's Henry Douglas and my gg grandmother's name was Ellen Margaret.
If anyone thinks they have a connection I would be interested to hear from them.
Hi again.

I have two copies of this - one a photocopy which I've had as long as I can remember, and the other a digital copy - a word document that the great-granddaughter of the author typed up. They've given me permission to send you the file. It won't let me attach a word doc here. Do you have an email address I can send it to?

I could photocopy the other for you and physically post it to you if you'd like as well / instead.

Regards,

Chris Jacob
(only distantly related to the recent Jacob family that the document is about)

Hi Chad. Thanks for responding. I am interested in Fred primarily because of his photography and filmmaking hobbies. He made a number of films of Glendale in the 1940s and '50s which have disappeared from sight. No one seems to know where they went but historians here (including me) would love to find them and perhaps copy them. If you have any info about their current location, I'd love to hear about it. You can email me directly at brucegmerrit at sbcglobal.net. Thanks.

I am looking for any one who has a Kathleen Jacob on there family tree, must have lived in London around 1950's + was present at a siblings christening and may be a relation, I have had a mystery in my family, and sadly my mother was unable to tell me how two people were connected to us, ie there was a Helen and a daughter Kathleen but I never knew their surname, as a married name or a maiden name, and it would be very useful if there was a way of knowing about the Jacobs whether we married into the family, some of the family came from Norfolk uk, other names connected are Woodfield,,Barthel and Barnes. and also had a Caroline Golding as cousin.

Any information on Peter Jacob born Wexford 1831/2?

Hi
I'm trying to find information on Peter Jacob, my ggg grandfather, born 1831/2 in Wexford. In the 1851 census he is lodging with a family by the name of Kehoe (Daniel Kehoe/Bridget Jacob) in Bedwelty, Monmouthshire, Wales and is listed as a visitor. There is also a Mary Jacob (b 1781)and a Pathric Jacob (b 1831/2) at the same address. Mary is listed as a visitor but Pathrick is listed as a nephew. I do not know if Mary is Peter's mother or what happened to her. The Kehoe family went to America some time before 1861 and I can't work out if Peter is related in any way to Bridget Kehoe (Jacob). In 1861 Peter is married and living in Birmingham, England. A visitor from Wexford, Sarah Deigh (b 1841) is also listed. In 1881 they are living in Birkenhead (near Liverpool)and have another Irish visitor staying - Ann O'Sullivan (b 1849). I would be really grateful if anyone has any information about Peter. Thanks

I don't know much about my JACOB family from County Carlow. I know my great-grandparents worked on the Oak Park Estate and had 12 children while living there. The family came to the United States in the early 1900's. I'm told many of the people in this photograph are JACOB relatives. Does anyone recognize any of these people?

Hello Allison,

Just today I was doing some research on The Rathwell Family of County Wexford and a fellow researcher sent a clip of some baptisms for Kilbranish, Co. Carlow (near Bunclody, Co. Wexford). I noticed a baptismal entry for a Samuel Jacob, son of William Jacob and Ann Rathwell, dated 22 Jan 1837. This Jacob Family came to Canada and settled in Lanark County. You can find them in Montague township, Lanark County for the 1851 Census.

Hope this helps!
Heather

Jacob in Chatham Kent Canada and Chicago Illinois

My great grandfather Herman James Jacob was born in 1874 in Canada and I'm told he traveled the lakes and settled in Chicago, IL at an early age (varying reports of 9-14 years old). It is believed he may have lived with a sister (Helen, Annie or Bernice, I'm not sure which one) for awhile.

He married Annie Laura Powers (b. 1874)in 1900 and owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Chicago. I know he was into yachting and he was a Freemason. His father's name is supposedly John Arthur Jacob (b. 1830) who I am told was well known in Chatham, possibly as a ship builder.

Does anyone have any clues on these two or anyone else possibly related to them?
