Great to hear from you Margaret. Your branch of Jackson's is pretty well documented and I call them the Quaker Jacksons because they came into the US into PA and then migrated south (though many are still in the Kennett PA area). I think this branch actually came from Northern Ireland where they had immigrated in as members of Cromwell's army. Before this they lived in the Yorkshire area in England.
There is another similar branch that seems to have come in earlier (1600s) to Brunswick Co VA and that may be my branch. Do you know any male Jackson's in your line. If you do I hope one will volunteer to be yDNA tested. I am haplogroup I1 and most of the Quaker Jacksons were also I1. This haplogroup, passed from father to son each generation originated in Scandinavia.
I believe both of these Jackson clans are related and migrated from the Yorkshire area of England.
