I think I have a connection to this group of Jacksons. The two sons that went to Granville Co,NC in 1761 named Ambrose Jackson, Jr. and John Jackson are the ones I am most interested in since I am researching Granville Co., NC.
John according to the "Jackson's of Lower Virginia" migrated to Granville Co abt 1761 and then went on to SC. He supposedly married Elizabeth Lloyd. These men are the ones I think I descned from if they came into Granville.
Does anyone know the children of Ambrose, Jr.?
The children of John and Elizabeth(again, according to "The Jacksons of Lower VA" by Evelyn Duke Brandenberger and Clara Jackson Martin)are:
Henry
Drury
Abigail
James
Alsey
Ann
John
Green

Also looking for another Jackson of this line named Thomas Jackson, Jr. of Brunswick Co, VA. He had a daughter named Ann Jackson that married a William Liles/Lyles. Their daughter Sandal Liles married a John Green in 1829 in Granville Co., NC My 4th great grandfather, Loe Jackson was the bondsman. There must be a family connection there. Anyone know what it might be? any clues would be great.
Thanks so much for reading and checking your files.

Phylis,

I was wondering if you could tell me when/where Loe was born?

My great great grandfather was born in SC, but can not connect him to any of the Jackson's there. He moved from SC to Alabama and then Georgia. In the Harris County (Georgia )book it states his name as James Edward Jackson, born about 1830 in Edgefield, SC.
In the census I found for him,1850 & 1860 Alabama, it states his name as John. His wife's name changes too, from Mary to Melinda.

Please let me know if this, in any way, sounds like it could be part of the line you are researching.

Thanks, Gwen Jackson

Loe Jackson was born 1771 in Granville Co. NC. The area at one time was considered part of Wake Co. Hillsborough dist.
He married Frances Harris in 1792, Granville Co. Her father was Edward Harris and her mother was a Priscilla___.

The info on the Jacksons of Lower VA done by those two awesome ladies says that John Jackson went to SC eventually. I know nothing about that part yet. They also said he marr. Elizabeth Lloyd. I am related to the Lloyds as well.
