I'm wanting to research his family's history. As a personal project and to just know where it originated in this country. Thought it'd be interesting. The furthest back I can get is his grandfather, Samuel, born between 1880 & 1893. He lived in Arkansas. It's known that Samuel & his son (Michael's father) Joseph, moved to California (after Samuel & his wife, Crystal Lee King, split up), near Oakland when Joseph was in grade school, so I'm thinking Samuel is buried somewhere around there. I can't seem to find a definite birth year for Samuel, so it will be hard to find any info on him. Can anyone help or does anyone have info on him?

Samuel Jackson is the name of the brother to MJ grandfather. There is a funeral home in Tulsa Ok, where a cousin named Maurice Jackson is the proprietor and son of Samuel M. Jackson.
