My grandmother, Mary Lou Izard (Marshall) was born to Roy Preston Izard and Bertha Ellen Chambers. Roy Preston Izard had seven siblings including: Bennie (Mitchell) Johnny (Northcutt), Lester, Ethyl, and Leona. Roy Preston's mother was Mary Louise Moran (prior to marrying an Izard) and she later married someone by the last name of Carson. Mary Lou has a half brother, Gale Norman and a half sister Peggy Charlene Calwell. If I have read other posts correctly, Roy Preston's father would have been Albert Mayo and his mother was Tabitha Ann. I will try and check this out and re-post.

I am your mom's half brother. Your facts are just a little off.

Dad, Roy Preston Izard had Mary Lou Izard with your mothers, mother.
He was married to Jewell Allie Norman and had Joyce, who died just before I was born in 1938. He and Jewll had Peggy and me.
The others that you mentioned were his sisters. They had several children including Ethel that you have listed and then she was married to Mr. Carson and they had Fleta, Boyce and I think Leona.
Thanks for posting the information.

I am Gale Izard's wife and started researching the Izard family recently. I can supply more information about Roy Preston Izard's father, who was Silas Preston Izard, son of George Henry Izard and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Moran. Contact me and I will share everything I find.

Hi Flinton, I received your message with your direct email and will contact you through that. Salina/Selina (I've seen it both ways on census records) is one of many children of George Henry and Sarah Moran Izard, she and Georgianna are the ones that I have the least information about. I want to post this here in case others can add to ouor knowledge.

Georgianna apparently married John U. Reynolds, then she died in 1896 or 98. There is a 7 year old girl in the household of S.A.E. Izard (Sarah Moran Izard, husband died 1895) on the 1900 census, identified as a granddaughter. The record is very poor quality and I cannot read her first initials. It looks like it could be I. A. or T.A, maybe C.A. She was born in July 1892. I am assuming she is the daughter of Georgianna and John Reynolds. I can't find her again and have wondered what happened to this little girl. Would love to find someone who knows. "Georgie Reynolds" is buried in Coleman Cemetery in Johnston County, Oklahoma, where so many Izards found their final resting place. Her husband is not there, nor any Reynolds that I can connect as her child.

I am looking for an Ed L. Carson who was born in Mississippi about 1872. He was living in Ada, Pontotoc Co., Oklahoma in the 1930 Census and would have passed away after that date. He was married to a woman named Mary L. in that census and had stepchildren with the last name Izard. Also had two daughters shown in 1930 Census as Fletta and Boyce Carson. Believe that he had two sons by previous marriage to a woman named Minnie Clark named Clyde and Clark Carson. I am trying to confirm if he is the son of William and Mary E. (Ward) Carson & or find some family that can help me with my Carson's kin (they are kin to my Ward family).

Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.

I thought I'd pipe in here. I believe that young girl's name was Inis Ula Izard. I'm relatively certain about the Inis and quite a bit less sure about the Ula. I remember also that there seemed to be something about the number of children SAE listed. The census record looked something like she had 10 and none were alive. We know this could not be the case. I have 9 nine listed on my family sheet. At any rate, Inis was born July 1, 1892.

Thanks Pat, for chiming in. Good to have you back. Any idea where you might have gotten the name, Inis? If she is Georgianna's daughter, he could have her Aunt Ula's name for her middle name.

The last name would be Reynolds according to the 1900 census.

I have 10 children listed: Rhoda Elizabeth (died age 2 or 3 in Texas), Mary Jane, Selina Catherine, Silas Preston, Hilda Caroline, Tabitha Anne, Georgianna, Ula L., John Charles, and Sherley Biddle. I'll try to send you the Family Group Sheet directly by email with dates and such.
