Hello,
I have not been in touch so many things have gone on with me for so long and I was not back at these boards. Do you have any pictures of your family members that we could compare? My husband is interested to see if there might be any resemblance. Please let me know.

It's close. Estimate your grandfather was born around 1912-1917; my uncle was born in 1910. Do you have any information on who your grandfather's father was?

well let me throw a spanner in the works
My father was born iwan stepanovich iwanow in penza russia
on 27/9/1912.
he was taken prisoner during the war and immigrated to australia in 1950 as a displaced person.
He never spoke much about the war or the home life there.
he had a tatoo of a horses head on his left inner arm if thats of any significance.
I believe the iwanow surname is very common in russia
