My husbands grandmother was Antoniette Ivancich. On other family documents she was also listed with the last name Evans and Cich. She was born I believe in 1869. The census record says in Austria. She was married to Giovanni Saraullo( he was from Lake Como Italy) and immigrated to the US and lived in Rochester NY and died in Ithaca NY. Family talk says her father was possibly a horse trainer but this may not be so. Am looking for ANY info as we no little about her or her family

Hello,

Most likely the name is Ivancic. I found many Ivancic's in Slovenia (listed at the time as Austro-Hungary). I visited Rakek Slovenia where my Ivancic is from and there were many Ivancic's there (and in Croatia)...though Ivancic is similar to Johnson in English.

Good luck in the hunt.

Surnames: Ivancsics Evans Horvath Szalay Fritz
Searching for descendants or anyone with knowledge of Pal and Terez Ivancsics. Name was apparently changed to EVANS. Terez was from Hungary (we don't know what part). Terez and Pal (Paul) lived for a time in the Paterson/Passaic/Clifton NJ (New Jersey) area. Terez also lived in Canada for about 10 years. Terez died in New Jersey, probably Teaneck or Clifton.
We have a picture of Vilma Horvath, who we believe is a sister or sister-in-law to Terez. Horvath is Terez's maiden name. Terez's first husband's name was Szalay (from Hungary). Her second husband was Paul Ivancsics (EVANS). Her third husband's surname was Fritz. According to family, she was Terez Fritz when she died.
