Hi Donna, I'm very sorry I haven't written back to you. I am very bad at keeping up with reading my Email. Anyway, you say you are related to Anne Bancroft as a cousin. Is she the one in films? If so, you must be related to me in some manner or another. My grandmother was Adele Calagari Italiano, my grandfather Veto Italiano. They both lived in Mt. Vernon, New York before they died. My father was Salvatore Italiano and his sister was Catherine Italiano. I know absolutely nothing about the rest of the family except for some names I heard the family discuss thru the years.
I would really like to hear back from you and would be very interested to know if you are related to me in some way.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sorry I got back with a reply so late. I just now logged on to this site, realized I had a message from you way back in Mar. Thanks so much for the information. I will keep it with my data. My grandfather Frank never left the area he grew up in. But possibly your relative could very well be one of my great aunts. Thanks so much, if you'd like to keep in touch, my email is SLOCAL76@aol.com. LINDA

My husband's family lived in City Island, NY, part of the bronx. His grandmother, Rose Italiano was married to Calaguero Italiano (Charles).Their children were, Rose, Matilda, Katherine, Louise, Matthew, Jessie, and two sons who died young. His grandfather came to the US I believe through New Orleans or Louisianna. They immigrated from Palermo, Italy. Did you know that the actress, Anne Bancroft is really Anne Italiano?

Debbie, i read with interest your message relating to the italiano ancestry. What caught my eye is that you know nothing about this family prior to 1904.I am told that my great grandfather emigrated to the U.S. in about 1900-1902 and nobody seems to know what came of him. His name was Antonio Italiano. He originally came from Santa Cristina, Calabria, Italy. He left a five year old daughter behind and was never heard of again.

Hi Debbie! My name is Naomi Chisley. I have been doing a little research on my family in hopes to construct a family tree. Looking up info on my distant cousin the former actress Ann Bancroft(Anna Maria Louise Italiano), I stumbled onto your message. We are apparently related. I am related to the Italiano family. My mother Julia Ann Simone (daughter of Olga Ann Simone)and her cousin Jean Simone (daughter of Mildred Simone)have told me that they had a cousin Vito Italiano who had a son Salvatore. Ann Bancroft had two sister's, Joanne and Phyllis. Her parents were Michael Italiano and mother Mildred DiNapoli. My mother's cousin Jean said that Vito would visit from New York every year or so. Somewhere along the line the Italiano family and either the Simone's, the Portanova's, the DeLuca's, the Sorreri's, or the Regillo's came together. Do any of these family names sound familiar to you? I have an address which I am not sure whom it belonged to: 169 Sickles Avenue, New Rochelle NY... I hope this message reaches you since I know that your message is from over 10 years ago. I'll keep my fingers crossed! Please email me if you do receive this at Naomi@Stoneblossomflorals.com.

An additional note: The Simone's and the Portanova's are from Calitri Avellino, Italy. Naomi
