Russel Isle, 91, of West Terre Haute died Monday morning, Oct. 31, 2005, in his residence. He retired in 1975 as a Teamster with Culligan Softwater in Terre Haute.
He was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Grayville, Ill., to John Isle and Elise Hopkins Isle. His wife, June B. Taylor Isle, whom he married in 1935 in Marshall preceded him in death Dec. 21, 1996.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Linda K. and Arthur “Buck” Harrold of St. Mary-of-the-Woods; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary L. and Virginia L. Isle of Terre Haute and Ronald and Kay Isle of Los Angeles; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Betty Isle and Donald and Joyce Isle, all of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He also was preceded in death by three sisters; and three brothers. He was a 1932 graduate of Concannon High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Augustus officiating. Burial is in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation is 1 p.m. until services Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
