The first generation of my ancestors in America arrived with the surname Isabella at the Port of New York Feb. 14, 1914. Giuseppi and Modesta Isabella supposedly then dropped the 'I' and became Sabella. They settled in the Sharon, Penna. area.

Fran,
I am not the same Caryn you mentioned in your e-mail, however, I will get back to you on a possible relationship. My family is from Brooklyn. My grandfather was Louis. He was born in Italy. He was married to Lena Potenza. He had 3 children Antionette, Natale (my father) and Grace. As far as I knew his brothers stayed in Italy. I have heard some stories from my Aunts that I want to verify. My grandfather and grandmother lived in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. I also lived in that house for 10 years. I will see what more I can dig up and get back to you. Thank you, Caryn

Caryn, Thanks so much for the reply. OMG i too am from Bensonhurst in Brooklyn. That is too unbelievable. Please see what you can find out. My Mothers brother was Louis and i am not really sure of my grandfather since he died when i was young and my mother is dead as well. So is her brother Louie, My cousin Louis is still living in Brooklyn I believe on 67th street. Havent been back to Brooklyn in many years and have been trying to do some research. I basically just started. I just wonder if some how we are related. Keep me posted i really appreciate it. Thanks again.... Fran
