Blunt Freeman Irby and Sallie Mae Wilson

I'm interested in hearing from a direct descendant of Blunt Freeman Irby, or someone in that family that is truly interested in genealogical holdings. I have a letter written by a person named Jo who wrote to Sallie Mae, from Cuba.
She mentions Freeman and their three girls.

I am not a member of this family.

I am an Irby, but not a direct descendant of Blunt Freeman Irby. I am responding because it has been over two weeks since you posted and no one else has responded. I am a very avid Irby researcher. I do not want any information lost which could help someone someday. I can guess how Blunt Freeman descends through the Irby family. The immigrant, William Irby, had 3 sons, William, Joshua, and Edmund. Edmund took as his second wife, Ann Blunt, sister of Richard Blunt. I would think that Blunt Freeman Irby would come through this line. I do recall hearing his name, but it has been several years. I do think that Ann only had one son, John. Some think that Charles was also her son, but I am not so sure. I do think that both John and Charles left lines in Nottoway Co, VA and elsewhere. I did read two wills this summer while in VA, but do not recall that Freeman was a son of either. One was William Irby of Nottoway, the other William Irby of Lunenburg who lived along the Nottoway River which did become Nottoway Co.

There were researchers for William Blunt Irby of Nottoway not too many years ago. Is this his descendant?

Please scan your letter and send it to me to transcribe. I do not want to lose the information. I will donate it to Ancestry so it won't be lost.

Many thanks for your post!! I do wish more people would do this so valuable information can be saved.

I dont recall ever seeing your reply. The letter is on thin paper and written on both sides so scanning it would give you a garbled mess. If you will give me a snail mail address I would be happy to mail it to you.
B(lunt) Freeman Irby (1899-1956) who married Sallie Mae Wilson was the son of Walter Mandeville and Petronella Scott Irby, and Walter's parents were William Blunt and Sarah Washington Smith Irby.
William B. Irby (1920-1999) of Blackstone, Nottoway County was a dairy farmer who also raised sheep, and was an employee of the Commonwealth of Virginia or the Federal govt, I forget which.
