Do you have any IRBERS in your family who were from Minnesota? Well, so do I!! Let's put our heads together and exchange info. I've managed to gather a fair amount, but now need help to fill in the gaps.

Given names in this family include:

Andrew, Anna, Edward, Johann (John), Wilfred, Josef (Joseph), Henry, Marjorie, Maria, Margaret, Ernest, Lucille, Albert , Lauretta and Arthur.

Other connected surnames include:

KUNSHIER
SCHABER/SHABER
SCHWICHTENBERG
MICHELSON
TESLER
NORRIS

Most of these folks lived their lives in the St. Paul area of Ramsey County, MN.

Would love to hear from anyone who is connected!

Thanks :-)
Clarissa

Dear Clarissa,

I am an Irber, Maybe I can help with an older post from 2003, my aunt Mary Jo Irber may have replied in 2006, but she has passed away last year, so email me with any questions if you are interested still in the Irber line.

Linda

I am a grand nephew of her husband, Ernst. We used to go see her sometimes when I was about young. I was 22 yrs old, back in 1978 when I last saw Frances. They moved to Pamona, California in the 50`s, and also kept a home on lake minnatonka as well. After he died, she eventually returned to California. My parents kept in contact with her but they are 15 years gone so I never did hear anything more about her. Good Luck, Joe Irber

You`re right, they never had any children. Ernst was in his 50`s when they married. Do you know when she died?

So nice to see this website. Anne Irber was my grandmother. My dad was her youngest son, Joseph Irber Jr. I have her old singer sewing machine; my mom used it till the 1970`s!. Her father Frederick Hoerchner was in the civil war and I have the diary he kept from 1861 till his discharge. It`s in german. I`m translating it. He was in the 8th Minn. Infantry Regiment. I`ve been to many of his battlefields such as Killdeer Mountain and Murfeesboro. They joined General Sherman in Savannah Ga. and finished up around Charlotte,NC. I`d like to know about his wife if anyone has a clue? Thanks, J. I.
