I am doing my family research.
My grandmother Antonina Irato was from Messina, Sicily, Italy. She was born in the 1890's. She was married to Camello LiConti.
I am looking for any info for my family research.

Hello!
I am Sabrina Irato (31), daughter of Gaetano Irato (56) and Gina Bruno (54), both from Messina!
My grandfather's name was Giuseppe Irato, and I guess Antonina was either one of his sisters or one of his cousins. There are very few Irato in Messina. I will check with my father any info he could have.
If you want, you can e-mail me at sabrina.irato@omrix.com

My Grandfather was Placido Erato. I believe he was born in Messina, Sicily and lived in Philadelphia, Pa. I suspect that his last name was changed from I to E. He is buried at Holy Cross Cemetary in Philadelphia. Based on your research, is it possible that there is a connection?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I asked my mother as to whether her grandfather, Placido had any brothers. Although she is 90, she has a good memory. She is not aware of any brothers. The name that Placido used in Philadelphia, was Erato. I suspect the "I" was changed to an "E" to americanize it, as was done with my last name.

I wish I could have been of more help.

Good hunting, Sal Petinga

My great grandmother on my grandmothers side was Nicolina Irato. She was married to Gieseppe Isgro probably around 1860. They were from the Gualtieri/Condro area in the province of Messina. Any information would be appreciated.
