I was interesting in if you were able to find out any more information on the Ipock. I show Frederick and Samuel W. as brothers with their father being Samuel, Samuel father is Christian, Christian's Father is Jacob, Jacob's father is Reinhard Eibach. I got my information that Samuel W. Ipock and Frederick Ipock were brothers from the Church of Jesus Christ Ancestry Community. Beyond those two I am trying to firmly establish the family after Samuel and Frederick. All after them it's a best guess with the research I have been doing. Reinhard Eibach was born in Germany in about 1659. Would be interested in getting an update on your dad, Carl. I have all of his parents info. I hope this message finds that you are still interested. Thanks for you help.

yes, George, I am very interested in the Ipocks.....did you say that you guessed about Samuel,Christian, Jacob and Reinhard? or...do you have any info? I agree with you, but mine is speculation.......my dad, George Carl (lots of Georges in the family)was born 11-7-1914 to Sophronia Heath and Fred Caswell Ipock. 11-6-1937 he married Ethel Mae Waters..he died 10-26-89 in Lenoir Co. their 2 children: Glenda Sue Ipock (2-15-47)me, and George Allen Ipock (2-23-53). My married name is Frye...I'm in Greensboro...my brother is in Mooresville...Mother is still in Kinston.......where do you live? who is your line?maybe we can help each other ....I'm stumped with Frederick's wife, Mary Taylor...they married in 1832 in New Bern......write me

I live in Rocky Mount, NC but grew up in Craven County. The part of my family line that I am sure of is as follows: Samuel Ipock (Abt. 1761), Samuel W. Ipock (1793), George Washington Ipock (3/12/1851), George Luther Ipock (9/12/1886), John Luther Ipock (10/29/1918), then me, George Luther Ipock (8/26/1946).

I do believe that Samuel W. Ipock and William Frederick Ipock were brothers and that Samuel Ipock was their father. I believe Christian to be Samuel Ipock's father. I believe Christian Ipock is also the father of John and Peter Ipock. I am sure that Jacob Ipock is the father of Christian. I believe Jacob Ipock, Jr. is the also the son of Jacob. There is some speculation that Jacob, Jr. may be Christian's son but not as strong.

I have been in contact with a Betty Wood Thomas who is a writer for the New Bern Sun Journal. She has been doing some research on the Ipock family and has recently written a couple of articles on the family. She has a trip planned to Germany the last of this month and is going to try to do some research on the family while there. If she can locate any information she plans to write another article.

If you would like to read the articles, I have them in my Family Tree Maker notes. Send me your email address and I will try to put them in Microsoft Word format and send them to you.

Also, was Fred Caswell Ipock married twice? I show he was also married to a Ellen L. Letchworth. Thanks for the reply and if your information differs in any way, let me know. Have a great week.

hey George..thanks for the quick response. Looks like we might be cousins...did you go to New Bern high school? I was at Grainger in Kinston the same time..New Bern was our biggest rival.....I find it interesting that Betty Wood Thomas is doing the research....my grgranfather, George, was married to Penny Wood, daughter of Phoebe and Caswell Wood..they're buried at Asbury Meth. Church in Cove City...do you know this woman's connection to us? and, yes, Fred Caswell Ipock was first married to Ellen Letchworth...they had a daughter, Victoria, who married Dexell Sparrow...I went to the Sparrow reunion last year. Aunt Victoria died when I was a small child in Kinston. One of her granddaughters has done extensive work on that line. My e-mail is Sunnywilliams26@aol.com......I would love to read the articles you have...do you have any old pictures? I'll get my daughter to help me send some I have. Have you ever heard that there are 2 sets of Ipocks in Craven co..different sides of the river and that they are as different as night and day? I heard it was 2 of the earliest brothers who had a quarrel and the two branches never got along....I'm the Cove City line, but I'll claim anybody..why not?...everything I've read and heard is that we should be proud to claim our name...thanks again...Sue
