Barbie L. Iozzi
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Barbie L. Iozzi, 51, a resident of Stone Mountain, Ga., died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at De Kalb Medical Center in Decatur, Ga.
After owning and operating several successful restaurants with her husband, she moved to Harlingen, Texas, where at the age of 40 she enrolled in college at the Texas State Technical Institute of Technology. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point average, which earned her an associate's degree of applied science.
Following graduation she began employment at VOTECH of Weslaco, Texas, as a computer science teacher. To further her career, she moved to Georgia, where she was employed by Inacom Information Systems as a systems engineer. During her time at Inacom, Barbie received several certificates in Lotus Notes Programming of which she was especially proud.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Iozzi; two daughters, Nichole Rutherford of Hamden, N.Y., and Michele Iozzi of Garland, Texas; and her mother, Bethena Barrows of Hancock, N.Y. Also surviving are two brothers, Ray Barrows of Jacksonville, N.C., and Ross Barrows of Oxford, Ga.; two sisters, Laura Barrows of Oxon Hills, Md., and Janice Dacey of Walton, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel in Hancock, N.Y., on Thursday, March 4, 1999, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
