His sons names were Pasquale, Giuseppe, Francesco, and Alfonso. His brother was Ferdinando. His father was Pasquale.

I was in Marcianise about ten years ago, and met another Gaetano Iodice. He was not impressed that he had the same name as my grandfather. There were dozens of other Gaetano Iodices around.

I was just going over some records of mine. My husbands grandma was Concetta Reitano and his grandfather was Gaetano. They came from Lipari. I do not know the year they were married but they were both born in 1886. He came to America around 1900 and then went back to Lipari and married her and brought her back to U.S. They had 2 childern Bart and Nancy born in 1914 and 1916. Since your father didn't know them I was wondering if they could be his parents. Sorry it took so long

My husbands grandmother was Rose Iodice from Portico Di Caserta. We always thought the last name was Jodice until through our research we found out that there really isn't a letter J in the Italian Alphabet. Now we can read clearly it is Iodice.

In the town of Portico di Caserta there are many many families by this name in the records. I have been studying the microfilm of the Civil records of that city.

On your father's birth certificate where it lists his father's name it might tell how old his father was at that time. That might give you a year or two to search for his birth certifcate to find his parents.
Good luck
If we can help you any way don't hesitate to email.
thanks
Valerie

supposedly what my family has told me is that the name Jodice came from the name Iodice, when my ancestors came to this country, officials misread the I for J, leaving their name permanently as Jodice.
