Christine Iodice was born Oct 28, 1929, in Kansas City Mo.

Her father, Angelo Iodice, was killed around 1933 when he was hijacked in a truck he was driving. Angelo was married to Mary Cunningham and they had one daughter, Christine.

Christine remembers that she had a Aunt Caroline and an Uncle Nick. Apparently, her mom was ill and traveld to Keytisville, Mo to visit a friend, Rela Cooper. While she was there and her daughter was about 3 1/2 years old, she died leaving Chistine an orphane. Rela was not able to keep her but she knew a couple who had been trying to adopt. There name was Grover and ? Bentley.

If you have any information please contact me. Thank you.

My name is Giuseppe (joe) IODICE from Melbourne Australia. My grandfather Giuseppe IODICE and his wife Anna lived in Barletta, Provincia Di BARI, PUGLIA, ITALIA. My father's name is BENEDETTO and amongst his sibblings was a brother ANGELO born very early 1930's ( I will have to talk with my father for more info ). I do realize this wasn't exactly what you're looking for, but I imagine every bit helps in a puzzle. Maybe the two ANGELO'S were cousins as it was quite common to pass names down through an order through the generations.

Hello,
You're just who I am looking for too. I am from Fresno, CA
I meet with Christine every Thursday afternoon for lunch. She is turning 80 this year. She was my grandmothers friend and then my mother's friend. Since their passing she is now MY friend. She tells me of her life stories while we eat lunch. She's the neatest lady I've every known in my whole life. She has told me of her father being killed and mother dying. She was adopted by some wonderful people and has had a really good life. I told her I would try to find out about her family on the world wide web (she hates the computer). How does she fit into your family tree?

I just called Christine all excited that I thought I'd found someone that may know her families roots. She just laughed and said to tell you "hello Kaye". Looks like you already know who and where she is.
I will still keep my eye out for any relatives she may have in this world.

Hello,
Christine is our friend too! She was my mother-in-law's friend first and then we just all kind of adopted her. My family calls her "Big Chris". I put this post on a long time ago ( with her permission) hoping to find something out about her past. I am glad you see her every week for lunch becaue she is full of stories and she always makes me laugh. If I find anything out about her childhood I will let you and Chris know. I live in Clovis....

Thanks....Kaye

I wish I had found this thread when it was active. Chris is my Aunt, and those were my grandparents who took her in and raised her.
She now has a copy of her birth parents' death certificates. Today I am sending her a copy of the 1930 US Census which lists some information about her birth father, mother, aunt, and grandparents.
I very much appreciate your concern for her.

I hear of you in Chris' stories. She's a big fan of yours. I know she hates to mess with a computer, but deep down would like to know more of her 'first' past. I don't really find anyone that knew of her, so I think that means that she truely is a Bentley.
Iodice or Bentley, either one, I love her just the same.
Maybe someday when you take another trip to California we will meet too. Gwyn in Fresno
