Hi there Chris,
I've noticed a common thread between most of the Internicolas that have written previous messages. The fact is sure that our name pretty much originates in Sicily especially the tiny village of Vita in Trapani. I came across an article in a story written in a publication in Salemi, which is the nearby town that my mom grew up in, that mentions a Carlo Internicola who in the 16th century put forth money to fund a monastery. I also remember my father, Tony, mentioning that his relatives used to mention a certain Sylvester Internicola who emigrated from Albania and was supposedly the first Internicola to settle in Sicily. I'm not sure how reliable this is based on how legends are born in these small towns in a backward time period. Heck, my dad remembers riding horses and mules in the old country. Take care....
