In the Wales 1911 Census Samuel and Matilda Marchant were living on 61 Minnie St. Cathays Cardiff. Their children listed at that time were: Archibald 1899, Edward 1901, Gilbert 1902 (spelled Gelbert), Bertie 1904, Lily 1906, Winnifred 1909 and Gladys age 8 months. I was particularly interested in Gilbert who was born Nov 2, 1901 and registered 1st Qtr 1902. In the 1911 census his name was spelled Gelbert. Finally when he married Johanna O'Brien the GRO spelled his name Grebert. However, if you follow his family trail you can see his proper name is Gilbert. Gilbert and Johanna were married in 1922 and had at least 4 children of which 2 were twins. They were: Clifford J. Inker 1922, Margaret M. Inker 1925, twins Patricia and Gilbert 1926, all born and registered in Cardiff. My wife's relative married, Eunice Barnes of Grand Bank Newfoundland moved to Cardiff and married Margaret M. Inker in 1943. I'm trying to find their children for my wife. I hope this is helpful to someone out there.
