I just found out that Laura Ingalls Wilder's parents-in-law, Almanzo and some of his siblings and relatives moved to Spring Valley, MN in the 1870's or thereabouts. His brother Royal went back and forth between Spring Valley and De Smet until his death. All of the Wilder children save Almanzo seem to have started families in Spring Vally before moving away.
I also found out that a few Ingallses, namely Joseph Aaron Ingalls ( 1851 – 1931), son of Aaron and Charlotte Ingalls who moved to Spring Valley in 1872 to live with his half-brother W. S. Ingalls. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how they connect, if at all to the other Ingalls or to the David B. Ingalls (1751 – 92), son of Nathaniel and Elizabeth McKeen Ingalls who moved there around the same time.
While I am related very distantly to the Ingalls-Wilder clan, I'm mostly asking because my grandfather spent part of his later childhood in Spring Valley in the late 1940's, early 50's and I'm curious to see if any of the Ingalls-Wilder or their related descendants were still living there at the time.
Thank you for your help!
