Hi, I'm also interested in our family history. I'm trying to see how far back I can go. So far, I've gotten back as far as Joseph Imfeldt of Strausberg, Germany (1732-1782). I got most of my info from Ancestry.com and from howellresearch.com. All I know about George is that he was Joseph's son and his middle name was Ludwig. Interesting stuff huh? I'm impressed that you are going to the actual sources. I live in Nevada and cant travel much right now. I would like to go to Strausberg someday though.

Sincerely,

John Wayne Enfield son of Terry B. Enfield, son of Virgil E. Enfield, son of John Henry Enfield son of Samuel Infield Enfield, son of Philip Infield II, son of Philip Infield, son of John Infield, son of Joseph Imfeldt..

This is interesting news as "Tine" Infield was my grandfather's father also, which means that we have the same Great Grandfather and my grandfather would've been your father's brother, which, I guess means we are related.

I have asked my father about "Tine" and he said that he owned a grocery store in Bartlesville, OK (I believe) and that is was quite successful. Vallie (my grandfather) was Tine's son and he married Annabelle Lee Hammons and they had three children: Janice (the oldest), Sandra and Jimmy (my father) who were twins.

I am not close with my father's side of the family either (due to an early divorce between my parents), but I met my grandfather Vallie who was extremely shy and quiet. My Aunt Janice was as comfortable as an old shoe as was my father and Aunt Sandra. Janice now lives in Barnsdall, OK; Jimmy lives in St. Louis, MO, Sandra lives in the Bethany, OK area -- not sure exactly where.

My grandmother, Annabelle Hammons, died in a car accident about 43 years ago and my grandfather, Vallie, passed about 15 years ago from nose and throat cancer.

I'm sure this is way more information about my grandfather and his children than you wanted, but I will see what else I can find out for you from my father about the siblings of "Tine" Infield and will be very happy to share with you.

Thanks a bunch,
Jonna (Infield) Pierce

Ok now I am left bewildered. I saw in the newspaper that Darla Infield died. It gave no details other than that. Who is she? She was awful young---I think 40 something if I am not mistaken.

I figured she had to be a relative being an Infield and being from Barnsdall. Thought it was a coincidence since we have been talking about this newfound family and then I read that.

I would like your email address so I don't have to post to this everytime but I don't have it. Mine is TTemple116@aol.com.

I am going this weekend to take pictures of grave markers and I am getting a book that my aunt has done on our family tree to see if we can locate more of us "cousins". Having a website for us to post to and send pics sounds interesting. My dad is getting me pics of my grandpa in earlier years so we can share to see if our grandpas look alike.

Have you gotten anymore tidbits from your dad? Did he fill in the family on the Infield history after you talked with him?

Let me know and you can email me directly if you'd like.

Talk to you soon---
Traci

Hello again! I think the Infield website would really be cool. It seems as though I am addicted to watching my email to see if you posted to my replies. It almost feels like I was adopted and have finally found my birth parents or something. This family that I always knew didn't just die with my Grandpa but I never knew anything about them otehr than they were from Ohio or somewhere. You have provided me with such neat and interesting info. I would love to hear from others too. My problem is that I know nothing about having a website other than typing the address in and navigating around.

One question I have to ask---how old is your father now? I am glad that someone from the Infield side still remembers him and has good memories of him. The way I have always heard that maybe the Infield's wrote him out of their lives because he married an Indian woman. I thought that was always the reason why I never met any of them and not alot of light was shed on the issue.

Well I am not too sure who would've worked at Safeway in Pawhuska. The only thing I can think of is that my Uncle Kenny has lived over there for as long as I can remember and maybe his wife worked there. I know she sold Avon. But I am not sure what else she did. Kenny worked at the paper office there for many years. That is the only person I can think of. Aunt Billie just moved there in the last several years. So I don't think it was her. I will have to ask my dad on that one too.

Let me know if you have any more good stories. I will try to talk to my dad tomorrow.

G'night--
Traci

This was quite interesting to me. You did not overload me on info either. I had to ask my dad about all because he knows slightly more than I do about the Infield's. He did tell me that Vallie (my dad called him "Uncle Casey"-- I guess is how you would spell it) but anyway he use to work at the old Smelters plant in Bartlesville. I asked about Tine owning a store in Bartlesville and he said he didn't know anything about that. One thing I found interesting is that in December I had twins and didn't know that I had any twins but very distant. Now I know I have another set distant but maybe closer than the other set I knew about. I know where Tine's grave is ---is his wife Annabelle the woman buried next to him? I will have to go look at the name again. I will take pictures this time so I can remember the years on the marker too. I only live about 2 miles from where they are buried. By the way---where are you from? Do you know any other children of Tine's? Or their children? My dad did tell me that his Uncle Casey was a small man. Which I thought was unusual because my grandpa Gail Infield was tall and skinny. Anyways a little info about him. He married my grandma which was half blood Delaware Indian. From what I remember my grandma telling me that my grandpa's family refused him after he decided he was going to marry and Indian. Then I guess that explains me not knowing anything about that side of the family. My grandpa died of a heart attack when I was about 8 years old and my grandma died 3 months later after having a stroke. Any more info I would love to hear it.

I am getting one big headache trying to find roots for Infield. It is from England or Germany, there are like 10 or more names associated with Infield, like enfield, infeld, imfeldt on and on and on... People changed from Infield to Enfield in 1700 and 1800's and others changed this and that. In 1854 John Infield changed his name to Enfield so it would sound more English. Come on. This is a joke. Who else is having trouble searching? I know the story of Joseph and Germany so at least thats a start, maybe.

Hi Colleen,
We were able to find Joseph Infeld arriving from Germany to the Port of Philadelphia in 1752 aboard the ship "Phoenix", (Captain Ruben Honor). How did you find where he was from in Germany?

Also check out our family web site at: www.myfamily.com
User name: Browsing
Password: Emfield

I don't know any thing about George but I have a Henrietta Imfeldt who shows up in Iowa in 1870. She married Joseph (or John) Buehlmann and they had four children. She later went to Chicago. Does any of this sound familiar? Is it possible George went west?

I hope this helps and I would be interested in any information you might have on Henrietta.

-- Michelle

I have found documentation that Joseph Imfeld arrived in Philadelphia aboard ship Phoenix, sailing from Rotterdam. I have found births to both Joseph and Vincent Imfeld in York, PA...but no John. I found no documentation in Frederick, MD of birth of John there, although that's info I was given as fact. Of interest (perhaps) to you is a Peter Impfield has court papers filed in Bedford Co., PA Sep 1850. He seems to be suing Wm Chenowith to collect a debt owed. Could there be a Peter IMPFIELD in your family tree???

I am trying to find info on George Infield (1809-1888), son of Philip Infield and Christina Klink, grandson of John and Maria Elisabeth(a), great grandson of Joseph and Christina Imfeld. George was 5th son of Philip (7th of 12 kids). I can find lots of the family in Somerset Co., PA, but can only find George on 1840 census. I have done a lot of research by going directly to courthouses in Bedford and Somerset, PA, andFrederick, MD as well as Natl Archives, DAR and Lib of Congress in DC. I'll share any info on siblings I have found, but as to George...I am stumped! Can anyone help me?

Apparently Alice grew up in Ellwood City, PA and married a person by the name of Powers. Probably she was born in the early 1900's. A friend of hers, named Alice on her will and I have to locate her for that purpose. The other piece of information I have is that Alice has a grandson by the name of William. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
