There are both Menzel & Immekus entries or references found in the offline resource called "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).
For instance, family death notices for Joseph Menzel referencing wife Beata; and daughter's married names Gaubatz, Immekus, Gesell, Mueller? Beata Margaretha Menzel's family notices follow many years later.
An Anna Immekus died in 1899 with paid death notices in these papers, but there's no direct evidence in the index that John & Anna used the German papers. There were other Immekus families from their generation like a Jos. & Elis. (Winter), and a Peter & Cäcilia (Böck) who published notices for their infant children.
