Looking for information on a Leonard Iler, who's name appears as a witness on a land transfer from Jacob & Lovina Iler to Jacob Fulk (Folk) in Hancock County, Ohio, recorded on 5 May 1841. I can't seem to find any Leonard Iler in this time line or place. Does anyone know of this person. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I don’t know who Leonard Iler is but do possibly have information on some of the other names mentioned.

I received from Morgan Iler several years ago, the Ilers whom I descended from. Namely William Iler (c 1770-1826) who was married to Elizabeth Waggoner (1780-1862).

He had a son John Wagner Iler (1804-1888) who was married to Lavina Logan (1807-1847). Both died at Deersville, Harrison, Ohio

They had a son James Iler (b abt 1835). And he died at Akron, Ohio. No death date but perhaps this James/Jacob is the one referenced in your query. And his mother would have been Lavina/Lovina. I do not see any Leonard Iler in the group of Ilers that he sent.

I am descended through Salem Iler who would have been an uncle to James/Jacob and a younger brother of John Wagner Iler.

Thanks for the reply, but your family is not connected to mine as far as I know. Morgan Iler was a great help. I traded much info with him when he was alive. With Morgan, he called my branch the NY Ilers. The NY doesn't meen New York.
Thanks for trying,
George
