Re: Ilas Family, Diamond, Indiana
Sorry, I have not heard of the ones you mentioned. Did you try one of Bob Ellis's messages listed above. He lives up south of Cleveland.

Re: Ilas Family, Diamond, Indiana
Hello Lisa,
I don't have much without dates (even ballparking the decade will help). Are these people still alive? Do you have a rough guess of their birth or death years?
I do have a Mary Catherine Ellis that I am looking for. She is/was my fathers cousin. Her grandfather changed the family name from Ilas to Ellis about 1912. She was born about 1922 in Indiana. Her grandfather and father immigrated to Indiana from Slovakia about 10 years before her birth. Her grandfather, father and brother (only sibling) were all named John. Her brother died young (about 1950-1955) in an air force training accident (according to my father). My father visited them on their farm as a boy in the 1940's. Her name was Mary Katherine Ellis as of the 1930 census when she was 8 years old. I have nothing after that, although I am currently awaiting delivery of obituaries of her father and brother which may give her married name. I hope this helps. Let me know if you get any information on dates.

Re: Ilas Family, Diamond, Indiana
Thanks for your fast response! IF Mary married William Jason Cox, there is a connection. I too am waiting for more info to come my way. All I have at this point is her husband and their five children. I am working on the 'gossip' that Mary and William came from Youngstown Ohio. They moved to Detroit and she later died here in 1967, he in 1957. Keep me posted as I will you!

Re: Ilas Family, Diamond, Indiana
Lisa, I received the obituaries and I'm afraid they don't appear to match. One obituary (her brother's) from 1956 lists her as Mary Catherine Jones of Clinton, Indiana. The second, from 1959 (her father's) lists her as Mary Katherine Jones of Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

Re: Ilas Family, Diamond, Indiana
I was afraid so. Her children were listed as being born in the 1930's, which would place this one as too young. Keep me in mind in case you find more?
