Hello! I work for Bridgewater College and our library has a book you will want to use for your research: "A History and Genealogy of Peter Eichenberg in the U.S.A.", published and copywrighted in 1955. There were many spellings of Ikenberry that orginated from Peter Eichenberg.
Bridgewater has a tradition of educating Ikenberrys -- we aren't sure, but we think that might be our largest family connection in our history. I haven't worked on the BC Ikenberry family tree in a while, but when I last put it aside, I had found around 100 alumni Ikenberrys, originating from only 3 brothers in the 4th generation from Peter.
If I can help anyone, let me know. I've been working on my own "Brown" genealogy -- ugh -- and I know how difficult it can be.
