Catherine Ihnat
Mrs. Catherine Ihnat of 370 South Franklin Street, city, died this morning at 7:50 in General Hospital after three months illness. She and her husband operated Andy's Café North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre for 15 years.
The former Catherine Haslinsky, Mrs. Ihnat was born in the heights section and lived here all her life. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Torbik Haslinsky. Her mother passed away January 14, 1956, and her brother Michael died November 11, 1957. Mrs. Ihnat was a member of Saint Joseph's Slovak Church.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. William Denlin, Allentown. One grandchild; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Sue Wassil and Michael, both of Dallas; Mrs. Leo Suwalski, Hanover township; Mrs. William Snee, Madeline, RN, member of the nursing staff at General Hospital; Mrs. George Howe, all of Wilkes-Barre; Mrs. Paul Hutnick, Philadelphia; Mrs Edward Krendacky, Drums; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 from the Baloga Funeral Home, 592 North Main Street. A requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 in Saint Joseph's Church. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Saturday, Sunday and Monday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm.
