Andrew Ihnap
Andrew M Ihnap, 88, of Leader Nursing Home, died Sunday evening in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born and reared in the North End section of Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Mihoc Ihnap.
He resided in the Heights section of Wilkes-Barre and also in Bear Creek.
Mr. Ihnap was a charter member of Saint Joseph's Slovak Church, Wilkes-Barre and a member of its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Saint Alphonso's Retreat League, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 302.
A graduate of Bowling Green high School, Kentucky, he was employed at the former Dorrance Coliery of the Lehigh Valley Coal Co. for many years. He also owned and operated Anndy's Café, corner of North Main and Public Square for a number of years before his retirement.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. William (Betty) Donlin, of South Carolina; two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His wife Katherine Haslinsky Ihnap died in 1958, and his second wife, Mary Swaploski Ihnap died May 20, 1967.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 9 from the Joseph J Nat Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Saint Joseph's Church.
Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The rosary will be recited Tuesday, with Rev John F Zahonacky officiating.
