MUSCATINE, Iowa - Jean Anne Ihle, 57, of 902 Wier St., died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at her home, after an 11 year courageous battle against breast cancer.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Mathias Catholic Church, 215 W Eighth St. The Rev. John Gallagher will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Muscatine Knights of Columbus, Laurent Council 1305 Building Maintenance Fund or the Muscatine Humane Society.

Mrs. Ihle was born on Aug. 30, 1943, in Davenport, the daughter of Thomas and Irene Petersen Minard. She was a graduate of Davenport Central in 1961. She married John H. Ihle on Aug. 5, 1967, at the St Paul Apostle Church of Davenport. She was a former resident of Davenport and Fort Dodge, moving to Muscatine in 1970.

She was a member of the St. Mathias Catholic Church. She loved the arts and crafts, including sewing, quilting, and knitting.

She graduated from Marycrest College in 1967, with a bachelor's degree and taught Business Education.

Survivors include her husband, John H. Ihle; of Muscatine, a son, John F. Ihle of Muscatine; a daughter, Julie Saucedo and her husband, Alfredo, of DeKalb, Illinois; two aunts, Mary Minard and Jarmille Minard of Davenport and an uncle, Robert Minard also of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers in infancy.
