I have sent off a short e-mail to you.

Being that it was an English speaker who wrote down the location Shonvar, Austria how can we find it. It is not correct.
Why do you suspect present Poland? Poland was ruled by Prussia, Russia and Austria.

Austria being historical Galicia - Malopolskie and Podkarpackie wojewodztwo.

Both of your ancestral surnames ICHA and VITKOVIC in Humenne as well as in Presov.

I was hoping that the letter went out in English and Slovak being that Ladislav ICHA lives in Humenne so Slovak is a sure bet that he learn in school. More and more people know English or are learning English. I suspect that your letter got "lost" or he is old or looking for someone to have the letter translate.
