Hi my mother was an Ifill.... Her father Belfield Ifill (his mother is an Alleyne) is originally from St. Andrews....the other Ifills' that I have come to know are from St.Michael (where the majority of the Ifills' have settled), St. G. and St. Philip. Lots of Alleynes and Ifills tend to marry along the family tree/line....My grandfather is still alive, due to poor records back in the early 1900's, he's thinks he's either 87 or 89....but he's a good source of info on the Ifill family.....hil

Hi Hil,

I am most interested in hearing what your grandfather knows about the Guyana-Barbados connection. I got the impression that my father did not know much about it.

It is interesting that Barbados seems to have been the source of Ifills in the Caribbean. Where did the name originate? I am guessing from the UK and Ireland, but I could be wrong.
