Mary "Helen" (Fitzpatrick) Ifft, 85, of Avalon,
died Thursday, March 10, 2011.
She was the wife of the late George T. Ifft;
loving and adored mother of George W., of Pittsburgh, Mary Ellen of Florida, Kevin (Kim), of Ben Avon, and Sally, of Ben Avon; cherished grandmother "Giddy" of Madison, Abby, Kemmer Jane and Alexander; sister of Claire Park, of Ohio Township, Thomas Jerome (Kate), of Ross Township, Edward (Susan) Fitzpatrick, of Virginia,
and the late James Leo (late Susan), Thomas Bernard, Ruth (late Bob) Gabig, John, Arthur and Daniel Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law of Margaret Fitzpatrick Ponte, Mary Ann, Anne and Pat Fitzpatrick; 38 nieces and nephews;
and many wonderful friends.
Helen was a quiet, kind and generous lady who will be dearly missed.
She was a dedicated and devoted mother, caring and nurturing, especially to her special, Sally, all of her life. They were well-known on the main street of Bellevue, taking daily walks, shopping and dining. Heaven has a new angel to watch over us. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to New Hope Assisted Living of Avalon and Bethany Hospice of Greentree, for the loving care provided to Helen. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the LAWRENCE T. MILLER FUNERAL HOME INC., 460 Lincoln Ave., Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in the Church of the Assumption, Bellevue, where Helen was a lifelong faithful member. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics-Allegheny County, 404 First St., Heidelberg, PA 15106
