Mineville — Vera V. Ida, 83, of Mineville died Mon. Dec. 13, 1999 at Moses Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga following a long illness.
She was born in Ticonderoga; June 11, 1916, the daughter of George and Daisy (Thompson) Thomas. She graduated from Ticonderoga High School, married and became a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed cooking for all and was an avid reader.
Vera is survived by three sons and their wives, Patrick and Blanche Ida, Lance and Arlene Ida and Brent and Maryann Ida; two grandsons and their wives, Patrick and Carolyn, Christopher and Julie; two granddaughters, Becki-Jo and Jodi and her husband Ethan Snyder; three great-grandchildren, Keith, Samantha and Lillith Ida; three sisters, Ethel Fiaschetti, Thelma Hughes, and Doris Huchro. She will sadly be missed by all of her family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Patrick M. Ida, Aug. 3, 1978 and her sister, Laura Ledger.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Moriah Methodist Church in Moriah, Rev. Alice Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Ticonderoga at a later date.
