My Isanogels are all buried in the cemetery next to the Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Delaware County, IN. Note the difference in spelling. There are also a number of Hensleys out there. I'm interested in the connection between your Sally and my Isanogels. John Isanogel is my gg grandfather. The Isanogels here are all descended from Solomon and his name was found spelled different ways, including a variation beginning with "Eisen....". Please contact me directly at my email.

Bruce: This query deserves more discussion than I can make here. I've worked on the Icenogle name for 23 years. Sally (a nickname?) has been a puzzle to me, but I've got a couple of ideas. I believe that Charlotte was the daughter of Abraham Icenogle, but no proof. However, the ties to Delaware Co. IN, would seem to relate to the descendants of Thomas Eisennagel. Please contact me at the email address above. Do you know from what part of Kentucky James Hensley came? Best. Roger

Bruce: Just came across this quote from "Pioneer Delaware County Families". "Sally Icenangoe, wife of James Hensley. James served through the Rev. Wr, assisted Daniel Boone in ridding the country of the hostile red men-moved with family in 1830 to Rush Co. Indiana-honored couple, hard working, highest esteem, Democrat, Primitive Baptist Church, buried Mt. Pleasant Twsp. Delaware Co. IN"
You may already have this blurb, but thought I'd send it along. Roger

I will see if I can get a listing of all the Isanogels (all spellings) at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Be warned though - the gentleman keeping the records tells me they are woefully incomplete and I can tell you from trying that many of the old stones are impossible to read.

I have been working on my genealogy for the Ayers, Noble, Kibler, Wiley, Cummins, Eisnaugle (spellings), Strole, Pence, Keyser, Keiser, Hobbs, Walters, Durbin lines. According to some of the information I have from my uncle (now deceased) I have a Sarah (possibly Sally) Eisnaugle listed...but was she a Durbin? Does anyone know? My grandmother's father was a John William Noble of Boone County around 1879-1957.
