Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
I have looked on Ancestry for some time and have had some correspondence re the Iballs but it would seem that there have been only 14 messages posted in many years. I am interested in communicating with others interested in the Iball families of which my wife is a member. There must be millions out there.
To start the ball rolling, we have traced it back as far as Ann Ibal(l) who had a son called William in 1816. If anyone can throw any light further back please let me know and I will be happy to share what I have to date aqlthough this will be at the discretion at the moment of the older members of the family.

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
I believe that the Ann Ibal(l) of your message could be the daughter of John Ibal/Eubal and Margaret nee Morris. Ann was baptised as the daughter of John & Margaret Ibale on 7 February 1796 at Mold. She was born on 21 Janaury 1797.
I have quite a lot of info on Ann's son William which I am prepared to share with you and would like very much to compare with your research details.

Thanks for that - Do I assume you are on the other side of the world making the lives of our cricketers hell? Have to go away for a couple of weeks but will put something together for you when I return. Kind regards Bernard

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
Hi, do any of you have a connection with John Iball, born 1850 in Buckley, living in Manchester in 1901?
Cheers, Dave

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
Sorry but I don't have a John for 1850 - nearest I can get is John 1849 born in Mold but I don't know where he ended up.

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
It's probably the right one, I only have the census age to go on, which would give his birth as 1850 to 1851. There only seems to be one John Ibal in the BMDs for that time. Here is the 1901 census. 71 Conran St Harpurhey John Iball 51 Buckley,Flint Head miner coal Catherine Iball 52 Mold Wife Joseph Iball 23 Mold son boot m repairer Thomas Iball 22 Earlstown,Lancs Son bricksetters?labourer John Iball 18 Mold Son assistant embroidery worker Eliza Iball 12 Atherton,Lancs Daur

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
Hi, I have recently started researching my family tree on Ancestry.co.uk. I know I am connected to the Iball family but having difficulty confirming that connection. My mother had an uncle Sam Iball who lived in Flint, he used to talk about a Sara/Sarah who I assumed may have been his sister? I thought she may have been my mums's Grandmother married to Charles Roberts but now unsure. The census is so full of misspellings, it can get really confusing. I am waiting for a few certificates to arrive which will help further. Will post findings when confirmed.
Regards, Gaynor

Re: Iballs of Buckley, Mold, North Wales
5 years later and you have another Iball message to add to the 14! My husband is descended from William Iball son of Ann but I am afraid that we cannot go back any further at the moment. We have just picked up our Iball research after many years of neglect and are now keen to find as much information as possible. My husband's grandmother Sarah Ann Iball was the daughter of John and Elizabeth who lived at Taylor's Row, Mill Lane (also known as Windmill Lane) Buckley. John was the first son of your William 1816 so we would be very grateful for any information about William. This week we have been to Buckley and taken photographs of the houses in Taylor's Row, also visited the libraries and Flintshire Record Office.
We'd love to hear from you, perhaps we have contacted you years ago but don't recognise your email address. Regards Pamela Jones
