Brockwayville newspaper article June 6, 1911:....telegram received last Saturday from Rev. J. E. Iams, where he had gone to South Olive, Ohio with his wife a few days previous, stating that her death had occurred at that date....it was known that Mrs. Iams was in very delicate health...for some time she had been suffering with malignant cancer and her condition had been such that all hopes for her recover had been abandoned...her parents, living in South Olive, were too aged to make the journey here to see their daughter..the longing to behold the loved ones once more was so strong that Mrs. Iams braved the danger and fatigue of a long railraod jouney and accompanied by her husband and family left on Wednesday morning of last week for her former home.......the deceased was the wife of Rev. J. E. Iams, pastor of the Methodist church on this place.....the family came here last September when Rev. Iams assumed the pastorate of the local church....funeral services were held from her former home on Tuesday with burial at South Olive cemetery......Mrs. Iams is survived by her husband and three children, one son and two daughters.....
