A sketch of this family will doubtless be sketchy, but here goes. William's mother's given name is assumed by his first daugher's names. Her surname was Mitchell, he was an only child. His mother was widowed quickly but she remarried to a HOOVER and moved to Licking Co, OH.
There may be children who'd already married and left home by 1850 I've not recognized. The following were born Licking Co, OH: Hannah Jean 1818 named for their mothers Hannah HILL and Jean MITCHELL, Benjamin 1822 for Benjamin Iams, Isaac 1824 for Isaac Bailey, Roxanna 1826, Francis Marion 1830.
By the births of the last two they were in the next county over, Delaware: Mariah Ann 1838 for her mother, George W 1842. Wife Mariah died there before Feb 1849. Here's *all* I know of the children after:

He was murdered during the Civil War - not a war casualty. That is about all I know. I'd like to locate families for the children introduced above, learn what became of them.
