Iacano v. Iacono (Cleveland USA, Buenos Aires ARG)
There are two message groups IACANO and IACONO. Perhaps the difference in spelling comes only from the U.S. immigration processing?
I welcome any information about the IACANO families of Cleveland, Buenos Aires, and Siracusa/Ragusa. I have very sketchy information about a Francesco "Gacomo" as the name was spelled then, and that certainly was respelled during the U.S. immigration. He married Francesca Rovetto. His sons, heads of the following families, are identified as scions living approximately 1875 to 1950:
Emmanuel IACANO-Angela TUMINO family of Cleveland. Giovanni IACANO-Angelina RUSSO family of Cleveland. Sam GACOMO family of Buenos Aires. George GACOMO family of Buenos Aires. Georgia GACOMO family of Siracusa (?).
